Zone A & B (Protected Lagoons)

These highly regulated inner waters prioritize dolphin preservation while allowing safe, supervised snorkeling.

The marine park divides Shaab Samadai into distinct areas to protect the resident spinner dolphins. Zone A is strictly off-limits to everyone. This gives the wild dolphins a quiet place to rest during the day.

If you book a snorkeling tour, you will swim in Zone B. This area allows supervised snorkeling along the reef. National Park rules state that life jackets are completely mandatory for all swimmers in this zone, regardless of ability.

The Inner Lagoon Sanctuary (Zone A)

Strictly no-entry

This is a strictly no-entry resting zone where wild spinner dolphins recuperate during the day. All boats, swimmers, and divers are prohibited from entering this space. You must respect the boundaries while in the water. Your guide will ensure your group does not drift into this protected sanctuary.

The Snorkeling Boundary (Zone B)

45-60 minutesLife jacket required

These designated shallow edges are where supervised swimmers can snorkel and observe marine life. National Park rules require all snorkelers to wear a life jacket in the water here. Keep your movements calm and avoid splashing. This quiet approach encourages curious dolphins to swim closer to your group.

The Lagoon Shallows

30 minutesLook down for rays

These sandy bottom transitions sit just outside the core resting zone. Smaller reef fish cluster here in the clear water. Look down at the sandy floor for passing rays and varied bottom-dwelling sea life. It offers excellent visibility for observing the reef ecosystem.
